Konoba burst into the scene 4 years ago with his iconic song On Our Knees, in which he sang the words “Something’s gotta happen or we’ll be on our knees”.
After having to cancel his latest tour and finding himself stuck at home, he decided to get creative and set himself a challenge each

For his first challenge, he decided to entirely compose, record and produce a brand new song, as well as create an entire video for it.
The result is a powerful song called In The Mirror, accompanied by stunning music video, in which the Belgian artist reflects on each of our own responsibility with the situation we currently face:
“Deep inside we all know what we’re in for, maybe we should look in the mirror”

Having to cancel my tour with
;in Turkey, Georgia and Armenia was a disappointment of course.
But the minute I understood I was going to be stuck at home for a few weeks, I realised this was a great opportunity to get creative in different

I will give myself a different challenge each week, maybe make a song in collaboration with fans online, prepare an acoustic performance, make a track using sounds recorded around the house,…
I have a ton of ideas and I’m quite excited to bring them to life in the next few weeks.
With this first challenge, I pushed myself really
;Making an entire song from start to finish in a week, plus a whole music video was already a high bar to reach, but I really wanted the result to be of the highest level of quality

Lyrics are often the hardest part of the creation process for me, its not easy to write something true and meaningful without being cheesy, with the right length of phrases, with rhymes and so

Thankfully this time, the words came to me pretty fast and
;I wanted to reflect on the current situation in the world, with the coronavirus pandemic, and how it’s shining a light on everything that is wrong with our societies and our
;My favorite line in the song is “deep inside we all know what we’re in for” because we all bear a part of the blame one way or
;If we take a good look at ourselves, we can all recognise habits or attitudes we know we should improve
;Maybe this is our chance to do just that.
The video was the biggest challenge for me because I am not a professional film maker and I don’t have high quality film
;If I wanted something cool and unique, I would have to get

Last week, I was watching the series “Dark” with my girlfriend and I really liked the introduction
;They used lots of different footage of people, textures, things combined with some sort of mirror
;This ended up being my main inspiration for this
;I started by filming lots of interesting patterns and textures, trees, wallpaper, fire and more, then my girlfriend helped filming me singing and dancing in different visual
;
She had never been behind a camera before but she did a wonderful job
;I then stayed up a couple of long nights to edit everything
;It was a big job and there’s a lot in there, but I had a lot of fun for sure and I hope that people will have a nice time while watching and

MESSAGE TO FANS
I’m hopeful this dreadful moment in history will be over soon, but the world we live in will not be the same
;This very much feels like a huge warning call from whichever higher power you believe in, let’s not ignore
;Now is our chance to rethink our societies and our lives, time to strive for a world where we value creativity, compassion, mutual respect and where we learn to reconnect with the nature we so desperately need to stay
;We can do better, we must do
;

;Remember to avoid any unnecessary contacts with people outside of your home and to strictly respect hygiene rules.
